Amigos is helping Santa Cruz help itself by working with the community to organize and build a vocational education center that will provide opportunities for young and old to gain new skills that can  lead to real life jobs and a stronger community.

WHAT IS NEEDED
People, young and old, are eager to learn new skills. They want to gain skills so that they can make a decent living, help care for their families and not have to leave their community in search of a better future. What is needed is a place where young adults, men and women, can come to learn new skills that will help them find work that is meaningful and economically beneficial to both to themselves and to their community.

A VISION BECOMES A REALITY
Amigos is working in partnership with the town leaders and the people of Santa Cruz to make this vision  of a center for vocational training a reality.

CECAP, Santa Cruz Center for Vocational Education, is a grass roots, community project. It is enthusiastically  supported by young and old and is seen as a major source of education and economic opportunity for generations to come.

We are partnering with government agencies that will provide the actual training in areas specified. The project will eventually pay for itself via student fees, outside agency partnerships and revenues generated by a locally run restaurant and shop.

• Carpentry, Welding, Electronics & Electricity

• Weaving & Sewing

• Cooking & Restaurant Skills

•Small Business Management

• Multi-functional Classroom

• Community Meeting Space

• Student-run Restaurant &
•        Arts & Crafts Shop
